Since 1987, The Wave has dished out contemporary instrumental jazz and vocal music, to the delight of stuck commuters and dentists offices across the Southland. Surprisingly, the sound hasn't gotten old, and is as current as ever as the new vanguard of silky voices hits the airwaves, like Norah Jones and Diana Krall. Call it Yuppie Jazz, if you will, but a whole host of overstimulated Angelinos rely on it for just a bit of respite. (MM)
